Carson Moore

When Carson received his first drum set at 4 years old on Christmas morning, his fate was surely sealed. From then on, there was rarely a quiet moment in the house. As the years when on, Carson would pick up more and more instruments. Cello, Mandolin, Trumpet, and the piano became a regular part of his life as a child. The first song he ever learned on the piano is the Final Countdown by Europe, just in time to show it off for a New Years performance. It was clear from a young age, Carson wanted to explore the musical world.

In 2022, Carson enrolled as a music performance student at Umass Lowell. Since then, he has played with local Lowell bands such as The New Agenda, Miss Karma, and the Roaches, and at events such as the Lowell Latin Festival, and venues such as Taffeta and The Safe. With the Roaches, Carson has recorded and released 1 studio album, and 3 singles, with a second album currently in production.

As a musician, Carson loves unique combinations of rhythm and harmony, often seen on stage improvising polyrhythms and changing genre left and right without pause. Currently, Carson focuses on his solo piano work, performing in  jazz groups, fusion bands, composing, and working as the internal events coordinator of the Umass Lowell Music Performance Society. Carson aspires to foster a multicultural community of people of all types, breaking down cultural barriers and inspiring people to open their minds to new perspectives and experiences, embracing creativity and inclusivity, all while broadening horizons through music.

“If  Robert Glasper and Chick Corea created a musical love-child, the result would be Carson Moore—his playing is elegant, stylish, and endlessly inventive.”
